We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Women TechEU programme, kicking off the journey of the 40 exceptional winners from our first cohort! Following an incredibly competitive open call that attracted over 820 women-led startups, these visionary entrepreneurs will now benefit from six months of top-tier support, guidance, and resources tailored to help them thrive.
At Sploro, we’ve spearheaded numerous European open calls, but the response to Women TechEU exceeded our expectations, proving the urgent need for initiatives that foster a more diverse and balanced tech landscape. This first cohort represents the pinnacle of women innovation in Europe, and we’re dedicated to making future calls even more accessible and impactful for the next generation of women leaders.
The programme officially launched on September 16th and runs until March 2025. Over the next six months, each startup will be paired with carefully selected women mentors who deeply understand the unique challenges faced by women in entrepreneurship. These mentors, along with experts and industry leaders, will offer invaluable support through regular one-on-one mentoring, workshops, and specialized training sessions on crucial topics like Pitch Preparation, Fundraising, Communications, and Go-to-Market Strategies.
What makes this programme truly unique is its commitment to customization. Rather than adopting a one-size–fits-all approach, we’ve developed over 50 topics designed to meet the specific needs of the startups, ensuring every participant can extract the maximum value. This collaborative environment not only offers practical tools for business growth but also builds a vibrant community where participants can learn from each other and create lasting connections.
We believe this is just the beginning of a remarkable journey, and we can’t wait to celebrate the success stories that will emerge from this programme. To all future applicants: The Second Open Call is currently open and will close on October 1st at 5 PM CET . Get ready to join a transformative movement that’s redefining Europe’s tech ecosystem!
On 16 and 17 September, all partners of the consortium gathered in the picturesque city of San Sebastián, hosted by the project coordinator, EITM. The meeting was exceptionally well-organized, providing an ideal setting for aligning strategies and fine-tuning key project elements.
We were especially excited to meet the exceptional women taking part in the Advisory Board, whose insights will be invaluable to the project’s success. Adding to the momentum, our Project Officer directed some inspiring words of encouragement, further energizing the team. Alongside productive discussions, the agenda allowed time for networking which fostered collaboration and strengthened relationships, ensuring the consortium left San Sebastián more united and focused than ever.
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our first ever event in Pamplona, called “Exploring Horizons”, where Angele Giuliano was one of the key speakers during a roundtable discussion.
After the break, we continued with a session moderated by Marjorie Grassler from Mobile World Capital, focusing on “The Role of the EIC for European SMEs.” The discussion featured Viorel Peca, Angele Giuliano, the EIC Ambassador for Malta, and Luis Guerra, National Contact Point for CDTI. Drawing from her extensive experience, Angele shared invaluable insights and highlighted initiatives like Women TechEU, showcasing her commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs in the deep tech sector.
Here’s a photo with Angele and Elisabeth Camilleri from AcrossLimits, alongside Sploro team members involved in the project. It was a proud moment for us to unite in support of women-led innovation and bring European funding opportunities to northern Spain.
