What’s New at Sploro: EU Projects Highlights – October 2025

From food innovation to digital agriculture and women in tech — here’s what kept our EU project teams busy this month.

October 2025 was a month full of energy, collaboration, and meaningful progress across several EU-funded projects where Sploro is an active partner. From digital agriculture to food innovation and women entrepreneurship in tech, our teams joined consortium meetings and events that continue to shape Europe’s innovation landscape.

SPADE Project – Consortium Meeting in Sóller, Mallorca (15–16 October)

SPADE consortium Mallorca

The SPADE consortium gathered at the Capvespre Agromuseum Centre in Sóller, Mallorca for two productive days of discussions and planning. This face-to-face meeting was a key milestone to review the project’s progress and coordinate next steps.

During the sessions, partners shared updates on technical developments, dissemination strategies, and exploitation activities. From Sploro, our Project Manager Marina Ortega presented the progress of Open Call #2 and contributed to discussions on communication and impact pathways leading to the next project review.

“SPADE is a great example of how collaboration across disciplines and countries can drive real innovation in digital agriculture.”

The meeting reinforced the collaborative spirit and shared vision behind SPADE: building an open and sustainable digital ecosystem to accelerate innovation in agriculture and environmental technologies.

Women TechEU – 4th General Assembly in Dublin (15–16 October)

Also in mid-October, Sploro joined partners in Dublin for the 4th in-person Women TechEU General Assembly, hosted by AwakenHub. The two-day gathering focused on collaboration, future planning, and celebrating the achievements of women innovators across Europe.

Representing Sploro, Virginia Gómez and Maja Horvat took part in discussions on the upcoming Call 4 Programme of Services, new policy papers, and preparations for the project’s final event.

The meeting also offered moments of connection, including a partner dinner that strengthened bonds within the consortium.

“Incredible to see the Women TechEU community in Dublin — still as passionate, collaborative, and driven as on day one. Thank you to our wonderful hosts, AwakenHub, for two inspiring days of connection, purpose, and energy that remind us why we do what we do.”

Women TechEU continues to empower female founders and innovators, supporting gender equality and inclusive growth across the European tech ecosystem.

FOODITY & DRG4FOOD – Consortium Meeting and Final Conference in Brussels (21–23 October)

Mid-October also brought the FOODITY Consortium Meeting and the joint FOODITY x DRG4FOOD Final Conference, held in Brussels. Over three days, project partners and stakeholders came together to exchange knowledge, showcase achievements, and strengthen cooperation in digital innovation for sustainable food systems.

The consortium meeting on 21 October marked nearly three years of collaboration — a final opportunity to review results, share lessons learned, and plan actions to maximise impact in the final phase.

The Final Conference (22–23 October) gathered innovators, researchers, policymakers, and investors to co-create a more sustainable and trustworthy food future. Nearly 20 open call winners pitched their groundbreaking digital and data-driven solutions to key challenges in Europe’s food systems.

“It’s all about people — building bridges, sharing ideas, and shaping a stronger community.”

David Gaburici, Team Leader at Sploro Tweet

This event highlighted how collaboration and open innovation can drive transformation in the way we produce, manage, and consume food across Europe.
