Sploro Expands with New CTO and Two Senior EU Project Managers


With these strategic hires, Sploro strengthens its Kronis platform and expands digital and funding support across Europe, marking 2024 as a year of transformative growth.

At Sploro, we’re continuing to grow—not just in team size, but also in our capacity to lead technological innovation and manage European projects. After establishing ourselves as the Navarra-based SME with the most projects funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe program, we’re excited to announce the addition of three key team members who will strengthen our journey even further.

First, we’re thrilled to welcome Sergi Hernando as our new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With 25 years of product development experience, 15 of which were spent in leadership roles, Sergi has worked with companies like Science4Tech and Mobivery, where he led advanced tech projects. His expertise in technology strategy and team management will be crucial in advancing Kronis, our platform for managing the finances of European projects, which is already available in over 8 countries.

We’re also excited to introduce David Rodríguez and David Gaburici, our new EU Project Managers. David Rodríguez brings extensive experience in innovation and business development, having worked at Leitat Technological Center and Grupo Otua, with a focus on projects in hydrogen and product engineering. Meanwhile, David Gaburici joins us after six years at PwC, where he specialized in managing European funds, including Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, with in-depth experience in external auditing and EU R&D fund management.

These new additions further strengthen our international team, which now consists of 18 professionals from 5 European countries. 2024 has been a year of expansion for Sploro, as we doubled our team and increased our presence in the field of technological process digitization and startup support via EU funding management.
