PQ REACT launches its first open call to fund Quantum Resistant Crypto in Energy Aware Contexts

Join the Post-Quantum Revolution with PQ REACT: Open Call for Innovators and Evaluators

As the digital world races toward a future where quantum computers could render current cryptographic methods obsolete, the need for robust, quantum-resistant solutions has never been more urgent. The PQ-REACT project stands at the forefront of this revolution, offering a comprehensive framework to transition from classical to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) seamlessly. We’re excited to announce our first open calls for innovators and experts alike to join us in shaping the future of secure digital communication.

Why Post-Quantum Cryptography Matters

Over the past three decades, public key cryptography has become a cornerstone of global digital infrastructure, underpinning everything from mobile communications to cloud computing. However, the rise of quantum computing poses a significant threat to current cryptographic systems such as RSA and ECDSA, which could be easily broken by quantum algorithms. Although this threat is still theoretical, the time to act is now. Leading organizations, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), are already working to identify and standardize quantum-resistant algorithms, with the goal of deploying them by 2024.

Introducing PQ REACT: A Framework for the Future

The PQ-REACT project is dedicated to developing a flexible and scalable framework that supports a smooth transition to PQC. Our framework will feature cryptographic agility techniques, migration routes, and a toolkit for validating PQC systems across various contexts: from Smart Grids to 5G networks. By participating in PQ-REACT, users can tailor their cryptographic solutions to meet the specific needs of their environment, ensuring a secure and efficient transition to quantum-safe systems.

Open Call for Innovators: Bring Your Solutions to Life

PQ-REACT is now inviting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other stakeholders to participate in our first open call. This is your chance to develop and test innovative PQC algorithms and solutions on our cutting-edge framework. By joining, you’ll not only contribute to advancing global cybersecurity but also position your business as a leader in the post-quantum era.

  • Who Should Apply? SMEs, technology providers, and researchers with expertise in PQC or related fields.
  • Why Participate? Gain access to PQ-REACT’s advanced toolkit, collaborate with leading experts, and test your solutions in real-world pilots like Smart Grid applications and 5G networks.
  • Opening Date: August 1, 2024
  • Deadline for Innovators: September 30, 2024, 15:00 CEST

Open Call for Evaluators: Shape the Future of Cryptography

In addition to innovators, we are also seeking independent evaluators to assess the proposals submitted for our first open call. As an evaluator, you’ll play a crucial role in determining which solutions have the potential to lead the world into a secure, quantum-safe future.

  • Who Should Apply? Experts in PQC, with a background in innovation, entrepreneurship, or investment, and experience in evaluating projects for organizations like the European Commission.
  • Compensation: Evaluators will be compensated at €45 per hour for their time and expertise.
  • Opening Date: August 9, 2024
  • Deadline for Evaluators: September 9, 2024, 13:00 CEST

Apply Now to join our network of innovators and evaluators and help us build a secure, quantum-resistant world.

Let’s safeguard our digital future together with PQ-REACT!
